(9) Speak not in the ears of a fool: for he will despise the wisdom of thy words.
Explanation
The word “fool” means dull, or heavy. Someone who is a fool is insensitive to instruction, often rejecting it outright (Proverbs 1:7). The fool is a know-it-all: they don’t need to learn anything from anyone else.
