(21) Evil pursueth sinners: but to the righteous good shall be repayed.
Explanation
Retribution (or payback) is often considered bad. However, God’s payback can be both positive and negative. To those who violate His commands, calamity (“evil”) will follow them. (Consider those who become intoxicated, live in debt, or are lazy.) To those who follow His principles (“the righteous”), they can expect “good.” The Bible is clear that “good” will ultimately be “repayed” in Heaven, but blessings are also promised in this life for those who live in light of Bible truth.
